Avalon Fine Leather Services specializes in the care, repair, and restoration of luxury-grade leathers in fashion, furniture, leather and hair-hide rugs and interior installations both residential and commercial.  It evolved organically over several years as owner/artisan Cynthia Clark...while running Avalon Couture & Textile...noticed how the best leather shops in New York City serviced designer shoes and/or handbags...but few handled the thin, buttery soft lamb or calf leather garments so prevalent in today's fashion and design arenas.  When they did... it was limited to minor issues. The development and current trend of woven leather and intricate hair-hide rugs/furnishings also demanded special capabilities to retain their integrity and value.

While Ms. Clark had done work previously for Fendi boutiques and the occasional client's leather chair or jacket...it became clear there was a void.  Where would someone turn when their white designer jacket collides with a glass of cabernet?  Fido makes a statement on that bespoke Italian sofa or chews a coat sleeve?  Or a young child scribbles on a custom suede cushion...with multiple writing instruments?  So, After further studies in Europe... Fine Leather Services was launched.

Furniture and cushions are usually shipped to our studio.  for large furniture or interior installations...on site arrangements can be booked by advance appointment. Travel for large projects may be possible.                                             

Estimates & Inquiries

... if an estimated charge prior to shipping is desired, send a brief email with description and at least 2 crisp, clear images: one showing the item as closely as possible in it's entirety, and one close up of the problem area. For garments, please lay flat (on a contrasting background if possible). Otherwise, ship your item to us and we'll contact you after examination.

As charges are based on the time necessary to resolve the problem, they will vary and work will commence only after your authorization.

We are a premium service. Charges for our hand cleaning/conditioning/color refresh/protectant option (periodic maintenance) start at 170.00...jackets average 200.00-250.00 in most cases.

Additional masking charges for garments with extensive hardware/ornamentation.

We enjoy professional relationships with several top-tier leather repair companies whose specialties differ from ours and will gladly refer where applicable.
